NAWBO NewsFlash!

At the November Value of Leadership meeting, our panelists shared the following thoughts for current or potential women businessowners:

  • This is agreat time to be in business! There are so many opportunities to be creative and to grow both personally and professionally through challenges and risk taking
  • Seek counsel and be accountable
  • Take up the"challenge of leadership"and dedicate yourself to leaving a legacy in your company and the community

Key traits of great leaders? They listen, learn, build trust and possess moxie.

They also shared some additional resources available to small business owners in Charlotte:

  • The Chamber acts as our voice in Raleigh on key issues.
  • Leadership Charlotte offers opportunities to dig deeper into leadership in our community and to grow on a professional level.
  • We all have a voice in the legislative process by "honing up, showing up and speaking up" on those things that we are most passionate about.

A huge thank you to our moderator, NAWBO Past President Celia Klein as well as our distinguished panelists

Natalie English, Chief Lobbyist on local, state and federal issues for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce
